(07/105) Murder by unknown assailants in Bingöl Province…
The head of the temporary village guards, Hacı Alan, was killed in the street by unidentified people in Taşlıçay Village of Karlıova District of Bingöl Province on 28 July 2011.
Following the attack, temporary village guards of the Taşlıçay Village went to Karlıova District and began random firing. They also attacked on the members of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDPPeace and Democracy Party ) and set the house of Şemsettin Özen, the BDP’s District Chairperson, into fire. Bingöl Governorate interpreted the incident as a “sentimental reaction” (ANF; cnnturk.com, 28 July).
