(11/169) Clash in Iskenderun District…
On 27 November three people opened fire to the police teams in the entrance of the Denizciler highway wicket in Iskenderun District of Hatay Province. Two police officers were killed and 4 civilians were wounded in the clash. Attacker claimed to flee to Amanos Mountains (yuksekovahaber.com, 27 November).
(11/170) Private security attacked on students…
On 27 November private security forces of the Ankara University in Gölbasi Campus interfered to the students who were distributing the handouts for the meeting which will be held on 29 November. Six students were detained and a finger of a student was fractured in the interference (atilim.org, 27 November).
(11/171) Acquitted writer… Istanbul Bakirköy Penal Court of First Instance No. 2 acquitted the writer Perihan Magden in the case that she has been tried in connection with her article “Conscientious Objection to Military Service Now” published in Radikal Newspaper on 8 January 2006 on charges of “alienating people from military service” under Article 318 of TPCTurkish Penal Code on 26 November (bianet.org, 27 November).

Diyarbakir Heavy Penal Court No. 4 acquitted the Batman Mayor Hüseyin Kalkan in the case that he has been tried in connection with the funeral of a Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKKKurdish Workers' Party ) armed wing People’s Defence Forces (HPGPeople's Defence Forces (armed wing of the PKK) ) militant he attended in Batman Province on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law on 27 November (ANF, 27 November).

Diyarbakir Heavy Penal Court No. 4 acquitted the organisation committee of the Newroz Celebration of 2008 -Ali Erdemci, Hasan Zor, Ahmet Gezer, Remzi Çetin, Ali Simsek, Ahmet Erden ve Mustafa Ocakli- in connection with the posters that claimed to have the eyes of Abdullah Öcalan on them on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law on 27 November (Gündem, 27 November).

Adana Security Directorate’s Fighting with Terrorism Department detained two members of the Socialist Platform of the Oppressed (ESP), Gülistan Sahin ve Yasemin Tugcu, in home raids in Adana Province in connection with a commemoration that they had attended in the morning of 28 November (atilim.org, 28 November).
