(05/113) Operations and clashes in South-east…
A militant was killed in the clash between Turkish Armed Forces and Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKKKurdish Workers' Party ) armed wing People’s Defence Forces (HPGPeople's Defence Forces (armed wing of the PKK) ) in the mountainous regions of İhsangazi District of Kastamonu Province on 27 May 2011.
The operations in Kastamonu Province was launched after the attack on the police teams that were returning from their escorting mission to the election bus of Justice and Development Party’s (AKPJustice and Development Party ) General Chairperson Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who had performed an election meeting in Kastamonu Province on 4 May 2011, in Soğuksu Region of the Ilgaz Mountain, in the 25th kilometre of the Kastamonu-Çankırı road in which a police officer was killed and another one was wounded (Radikal, 28 May).

The administration of Kırıklar (İzmir)F Type Closed Prison No. 2 banned visits for one year to the prisoners who have been making hunger strike to draw attentions to the human rights violations in the prison reported on 28 May 2011 (Özgür Gündem, 28 May).

Ankara Penal Court of Peace No. 14 restricted the access to the websites rapidshare.com and fileserve.com on the grounds that the footages that were used for blackmailing executives of the Nationalist Action Party (MHPNationalist Movement Party ) were shared from those websites on 16 May 2011 (ntvmsnbc.com, 27 May).
(05/116) Intervention to the students’ protest in İstanbul Province...
Ten students were detained in the intervention to the protests of the students against the “International Congress of Higher Education” in Istanbul Province on 27 May 2011. Another ten were detained in the portests on 28 May 2011 (Milliyet, 27 May; Vatan, 28 May).

İbrahim Ayhan, a pre-trial detainee in Şanlıurfa E Type Closed Prison and an independent deputy candidate supported by the Labour, Freedom and Democracy Blog could not send letters for his election campaign on the grounds that Şanlıurfa Heavy Penal Court No. 2 had sentenced Ayhan to ban of communication for 3 months because he did not “take the position to be enumerated” reported on 27 May 2011 (ANF, 27 May).
Unidentified people attacked on the election office of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Mersin Province on 27 May 2011 with a sound bomb causing material damage (ntvmsnbc.com, 27 May).
Unidentified people threw stones to the election minibus of Türkan Dağoğlu one of the deputy candidates of the AKP in Kâğıthane District of İstanbul Province on 27 May 2011 causing material damage (Zaman, 27 May).
Three people were stabbed in the attack on the election convoy of Abdullah Levent Tüzel, an independent deputy candidate supported by the Labour, Freedom and Democracy Blog, in Küçükçekmece District of İstanbul Province on 29 May 2011. Erkan Kurumlu, an executive of Küçükçekmece District Branch of the Nationalist Action Party (MHP), was wounded from his jaw and neck in the reaction to the attack. Eight people were detained in connection with the incident (Radikal, 29 May).
Unidentified people attacked on the election offices of MHP and AKP with Molotov Cocktails in Bulanık District of Muş Province on 29 May 2011 causing material damage (Yeni Şafak, 29 May).
Unidentified people threw stones to the election office of Cercis Utaş, independent deputy candidate supported by the Labour, Freedom and Democracy Blog in Etimesut District of Ankara Province on 27 May 2011 causing material damage (Evrensel, 28 May).

Five students in Tunceli Province, five out of the six students in Şanlıurfa Province, five student in Erzincan Province, nine out of the 14 students in Kütahya Province who had been detained in the synchronised operation of the fighting with terror department officers in five cities on 24 May 2011 were arrested on charges of “being a member of an illegal organisation –KCKUnion of Communities in Kurdistan ” on 27 May 2011 (ANF; Zaman, 27 May).
