One Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKKKurdish Workers' Party ) armed wing People’s Defence Forces (HPGPeople's Defence Forces (armed wing of the PKK) ) militant were killed in the clash between Turkish Armed Forces and HPG militants near Gülyazı Village of Uludere District of Şırnak Province on 27 February 2010 (Zaman, 27 February).

Kırıkkale Heavy Penal Court did not allow Ali Gülmez, a prisoner in Kırıkkale F Type Closed Prison, to have a typewriter on the grounds that the security of the prison would be at risk, prisoners would dig a tunnel benefitting from the voice of it and the other prisoners would be disturbed from the voice of it on 26 February 2010 (ANF, 26 February).

Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 5 sentenced Hüseyin Karakaş, the former secretary of the Democratic Society Party’s (DTP) Kurtalan District Branch to ten months of imprisonment in connection with a song he played in a meeting in Kurtalan District of Siirt Province in 2008 on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law on 26 February 2010 (Gündem, 26 February).

Four members of Peace and Democracy Party (BDPPeace and Democracy Party ), Bülent Öngel, Sabri Morkoç, Şirin Yılmaz and Zafer Yılmaz, who had been detained in home raids in Ardahan Province on 22 February 2010 and then released, were arrested with the objection of Ardahan Chief Public Prosecution Office on charges of “shouting illegal slogans on 26 February 2010 (Gündem, 26 February).
Three people who had been detained following a commemoration meeting in Seyhan District of Adana Province on 26 February 2010 were arrested on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” on 28 February 2010 (Gündem, 28 February).
