Lawyer İbrahim Polat who went to Çiğli Police Headquarters to interfere the incident in which his client Halil Biricik (30) and his family were beaten, was beaten ni the station in Çiğli District of İzmir Province on 23 August 2011. His judicial identity card was confiscated and he was threatened by saying “what kind of a lawyer you are. Do not interfere” (Sabah, 25 August).

On 24 August 2011 Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecution Office launched a case against Altan Tan, an independent deputy, in connection with his three activities before the general election that was held on 12 June 2011 on the grounds that propaganda of the illegal organisation was done in the activities he did not do anything to stop it on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law twice, “opposing to the Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations” twice and “committing offence on behalf of an organisation although he is not a member” under Article 220/6 of TPCTurkish Penal Code . The prosecutor asked the imprisonment of the defendant up to 23 years 6 months. Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 7 accepted the indictment (Vatan, 24 August).

On 24 August 2011 Erzurum Chief Public Prosecution Office launched a case against seven defendants who had been arrested in connection with the incidents before the election meeting of the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Hopa District of Artvin Province on 12 June 2011 on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law. Although a court had verdict nolle prosequi concerning the same charge. The prosecutor asked the imprisonment of the defendant up to four years 6 months.
Erzurum Heavy Penal Court No. 4 accepted the indictment and the first hearing of the case against the seven members of the Socialist Party for the Oppressed (ESP) (Önder Öner, Görgü Demirpençe, İbrahim Aksu, Ali Aksu, Erhan Köse, Şafak Ustabaş and İdris Akbıyık) will be held on 14 September 2011 (Radikal, 25 August).
