(09/112) Lynch attempt in Bolu Province…
A racist group attacked on the 44 members of the Solidarity Association of the Prisoners’ Families (Tutuklu Hükümlü Aileleri Yardımlaşma Derneği (TAYAD)) with sticks who had been on march from Istanbul to Ankara Province with the demands “put an end solitary confinement in prisons, practise weekly chat right and release the prisons with chronic diseases” as they were passing the Bolu Mountain on 25 September 2010. Police teams interfered the racist group with pepper gas and took the TAYAD members to the vehicles (ntvmsnbc.com, 25 September).
(09/113) Explosion in Adana Province…
Four children - F.Ö. (17), S.K. (15), A.Ç. (16) and A.B. (16)- were wounded with the explosion of an unidentified object among the gathered children as the intervention of the police teams to a protest in Seyhan District of Adana Province on 26 September 2010. F.Ö. and S.K. were released after their testimonies were taken and A.Ç. and A.B.’s testimonies were taken in the Balcalı Hospital where they had operation. A.B. said that he and his father have been working junkyard and he found the object between the junks and the object was exploded as soon as he handled it. On the other hand it is claimed that the explosion took place as A.B. attempted to throw a hand grenade to the police officers (Gündem; Zaman, 26 September).
(09/114) Excessive use of force by law enforcement officers…
Three brothers -C.S., E.S. and P.S.- were beaten by two civil police officers on the grounds that they asked the officers who stopped them for ID check, their ID cards in Diyarbakır Province on 20 September 2010. C.S. got a health report that documents that he is unable to work for 45 days and the brothers made official complaints agaist the officers.
The officers were seen as kicking C.S. as he was lying on the ground and hitting his head to a vehicle in the records of surveillance cameras that were placed in Dicle City Boulevard (Birgün, 27 September).
(09/115) Coercion in prison…
Serxabun Gedik, a prisoner in Tekirdağ Type Closed Prison No. 2, stated in his letter that the administration confiscated the letters of the prisoners on human rights violation and he and prisoners were beaten in the previous month reported on 27 September 2010 (Evrensel, 27 September).
(09/116) Attack on party building…
Unidentified person(s) threw a sound bomb to the Workers’ Socialist Party’s (İşçilerin Sosyalist Partisi) Adana Province Branch office causing material damage (atilim.org, 26 September).
(09/117) Arrested executives and members of party and organisation…
Thirteen out of the 15 detainees –including socialist Democracy Party General Chairperson Rıdvan Turan and the representative of the Platform of Social Freedoms (TÖS) Oğuz Kayserilioğlu- who had been detained on the raids on SDP’s Istanbul Branch Office and Kadıköy District Branch Office and on the houses of the members of TÖS in Istanbul Province on 21 September 2010 were arrested on charges of “being a member of an illegal organisation” (Revolutionary Headquarters) on 25 September 2010 (atilim.org, 25 September).

Özgür Halk Magazine’s worker H.B., who had been detained in Mersin Province on 24 September 2010, was arrested by Mersin Penal Court of First Peace No. 1 on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” on 26 September 2010 (ANF, 26 September).
