(09/106) Operations and clashes in South-east…
Mehmet Gözbaşı, one of the teachers of Baharlar Village of Lice District of Diyarbakır Province was kidnapped by an armed group on 22 September 2011 (DHA, 23 September).
A police officer was wounded in the explosion of a landmine as a police vehicle was passing by in Dargeçit District of Mardin Province on 23 September 2011 (Zaman, 23 September).
Two police officers were wounded in the armed attack on the building of security directorate in Hani District of Diyarbakır Province on 24 September 2011 (DHA, 24 September).
Six soldiers and 3 militants were killed and 11 soldiers were wounded in the attack on Belenoluk Gendarmerie Headquarters in Pervari District of Siirt Province on 24 and 25 September 2011 (Radikal, 25 September).
Police officer Erman Tosun who had been wounded in the armed attacked in Mardinkapı Quarter of Sur District of Diyarbakır Province on 22 September 2011 died on 24 September 2011 (dha, 24 September).
A soldier was allegedly killed in the armed attack on an army unit in the rural part of Kozluk District of Batman Province on 23 September 2011 (ANF, 24 September).

Hasan Bilir (21) was wounded with the explosion of the thing he had founded in the wasteland in Şırnak Province on 22 September 2011 (Evrensel, 23 September).
(09/108) Extra-judicial killing attempt in İstanbul Province…
R.M. (17) who had been detained in the demonstration in Bahçelievler District of İstanbul Province on 19 September 2011 was shot from his back on grounds that he tried to escape from police and he was reportedly kept in detention for three days without medical treatment. Eventually R.M. was arrested on charges of “resisting officer” and he was sent to Maltepe Prison for Juveniles before his treatment over (Özgür Gündem, 25 September).
(09/109) The Case on the massacre in Zirve Publishing house…
On 23 September 2011 Malatya Heavy Penal Court No. 3 held the 35th hearing in the case on the killing of Tilman Ekkehart Geske, Necati Aydın and Uğur Yüksel on 18 April 2007 in Zirve publishing house in Malatya Province because of proselytising. The court adjudicated to write to the forensic medicine institute in order to determine whether defendant Varol Bülent Aral has criminal liability or not and adjourned the hearing to 16 December 2011 (Zaman, 23 September).
(09/110) The case on the murder of Hrant Dink…
Istanbul Heavy Penal Court for Juveniles No. 2 went on hearing the case against Ogün Samast in connection with the murder of Hrant Dink on 19 January 2007 on charges of “being a member of an illegal organisation and homicide as an act of that organisation” on 23 September 2011.
Ogün Samast did not participated in the hearing and his lawyers challenged the judges. The court refused the demand and adjourned the hearing to 16 December 2011 (bianet.org, 23 September).
(09/111) Coercion in prison…
Five prisoners -Nehar Avcı, Diren Yağan, Didem Ezgi Serap, Müzeyyen Çınar, Eda Dişkaya- in Sincan (Ankara) L Type Closed Prison were reportedly beaten on 20 September 2011 and neither water nor food was given to them for a day (halkinsesi.tv, 23 September).
(09/112) Coercion in prison…
It is reported on 25 September 2011 that the administration of Kocaeli F Type Closed Prison No. 1 confiscated the letters of prisoners written to the 16 columnists including Derya Sazak, Nuray Mert, Özgür Mumcu, Ezgi Başaran, Umur Talu, Hüseyin Aykol and Yıldırım Türker on grounds that they were “objectionable” on 5 September 2011 (ANF, 25 September).

It is reported that applications for the medical treatment of the nine convicts in Muş E Type Closed Prison -Görgin Oktar, Hulki Güneş, Fesih Coşkun, November Demir, İhsan Altın, Sabahattin Aytek, Bahattin Bor, Savaş Kahraman and Mecit Hemo- were remained inconclusive and they did not released on 25 September 2011 (Özgür Gündem, 25 September).

Cihan Güney made a public statement in human rights Organisation’s (İnsan Hakları Derneği (İHD)) İstanbul Branch on 22 September 2011 and claimed that he has been threatened by police officers in plain clothes in order to give information on the websites that he had designed (Özgür Gündem, 23 September).

Material damage took place due to the explosion of a sound bomb that was thrown to the District Branch of the Justice and Development Party (AKPJustice and Development Party ) in Kartal District of İstanbul Province on 23 September 2011 (Zaman, 23 September).
(09/116) Intervention to the demonstration against HES in Trabzon Province…
Three out of the six peasants who had been detained in the demonstration against Hydroelectric Power Stations (HES) that were planned to be constructed in Solaklı Valley of Of District of Trabzon Province on 22 September 2011 were arrested on charges of “being a member of illegal organisation” and “resisting officers” on 23 September 2011 (atilim.org, 23 September).
(09/117) Intervention to the condolence ceremony in Şanlıurfa Province…
23 persons had been detained in the intervention of the law-enforcement officers to the mourning tent for the PKKKurdish Workers' Party militant Şilan Uğur, one of the five militants who died with gas from generator a year ago, in Suruç District of Şanlıurfa Province on 20 September 2011. Six of the detainees were arrested on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” on 23 September 2011 (ANF, 23 September).
(09/118) On-going KCKUnion of Communities in Kurdistan case in Dicle District…
On 23 September 2011 Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 6 began to hear the case against 34 defendants -16 of them are pre-trial detainees- who had been detained in Dicle District of Diyarbakır Province on June 2011 on charges of “being a member of illegal organisation (KCK)”.
After checking the identities of the 34 defendants the court adjourned the hearing to evaluate the objections of the lawyers (ANF, 23 September).

Şırnak Mayor Ramazan Uysal, Silopi Mayor Emin Toğurlu, İdil Mayor Resul Sadak and the BDPPeace and Democracy Party ’s Silopi District Chairperson Bahattin Alkış who had been detained in Silopi and İdil Districts of Şırnak Province on 23 September 2011 and Şırnak Vice Mayor Faruk Ürgen who had been detained on 24 September 2011 were arrested on charges of “being a member of illegal organisation (KCK)” the same day (ntvmsnbc.com, 24 September).

Thirty out of the 34 detainees who had been detained in the synchronised raids on the houses of the members and executives of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) in six provinces including İzmir on 22 September 2011 were arrested on charges of “being a member of illegal organisation (KCK)” 26 September 2011 (Star, 26 September).
