Four police officers were allegedly wounded with fire of the protestors in the protest against the cross border air raid in Cizre District of Şırnak Province on 22 August 2011. Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 5 sentenced Ramazan Karakaya, the Socialist Party of the Oppresseds’ (ESP) Diyarbakır Province Chairperson, to 10 months of imprisonment in connection with the public statement on 14 February 2011 on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law on 22 August 2011 (atilim.org, 22 August).
