During a clash in the rural areas of Van, Çatak district on 21 September 2011 one soldier and a village guard were killed; two village guards were injured (Star, 22 September).

When in İstanbul, Beyoğlu district the house-keeper Aydın Eriş discussed with officers of the traffic police, who wanted to remove his car on 19 September 2011, he was beaten by the police officers. The family of Aydın Eriş, who reportedly had a brain trauma, two broken teeth and a crushed body, filed an official complaint (ANF, 21 September).
(09/095) Trial in Ankara…
On 27 November 2010 the police in Ankara had raided the offices of the Youth Culture Centre (GKM) on order of Ankara Heavy Penal Court 11 and had detained 46 people on the allegation that illegal actions were planned. Later 11 people including the reporter of Dicle News Agency, Emine Altınkaya. The trial against 41 of the detained 46 people, 11 of them in pre-trial detention charged with membership of an illegal organization continued on 20 September 2011. Ankara Heavy Penal Court 12 heard the defence of the defendants; decided to release Emine Altınkaya and adjourned the hearing to 29 November 2011 (Özgür Gündem, 21 September).

İbrahim Cengiz, working as a security officer at the post office on Siirt, Pervari district applied to the Siirt branch of the Human Rights Association (HRAHuman Rights Association ) alleging that on 19 September 2011 special police officers had forced him out of a minibus at the entrance to town and had threatened him with death (Evrensel, 21 September).

On a tip-off the offices of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDPPeace and Democracy Party ) in Adana had been search on 7 December 2007 and 26 February 2008. Reportedly some banned books, journals, posters and documents had been confiscated and the chair for the province Mehmet Zeki Karataş, his deputy Kenan Büyüktaş and Musa Meşe and Senar Abı had been charged with supporting an illegal organization. Their trial concluded on 21 September 2011.
Adana Heavy Penal Court 8 heard the final words of the defendants and sentenced Mehmet Zeki Karataş to 12 years, 6 months' imprisonment; Kenan Büyüktaş, Musa Meşe and Senar Abı were sentenced to 6 years, 3 months' imprisonment (Vatan, 21 September).

Of the 37 people who during parallel house raids in Şırnak, Silopi and Beytüşşebap districts had been detained on 20 September 2011 31 people including BDP members and executives were arrested on 21 September 2011 on allegations of being members of KCK (ntvmsnbc.com, 21 September).
