The 20th anniversary of the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (HRFTHuman Rights Foundation of Turkey ) means 20 years of hard professional work in the field of treatment and rehabilitation of torture victims, prevention of torture, and the development of scientifi c and ethical standards. The high standard of scientific level is reflected by a large number of publications and at top of them the development of the “Istanbul Protocol” as a standard for examination of survivors of torture. All the works and achievements of HRFT are a sign of positive work of this organisation and a benchmark for human rights activists in other countries that a sustainable human rights work is possible even in countries with “low” standard of human right. Combined professional and empathic enthusiasm, high scientific standard, the profound cooperation with related organisations abroad have been in our opinion the basic for all achievements of HRFT in the past and we’re very glad to have the opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary with you.

Best wishes,
