(03/053) Operations and clashes in South-east…
Three militants were killed in the clash between Turkish Armed Forces and Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKKKurdish Workers' Party ) armed wing People’s Defence Forces (HPGPeople's Defence Forces (armed wing of the PKK) ) in the rural part of the Güçlükonak District of Şırnak Province on 15 March 2011 (Radikal, 15 March).
(03/055) KCKUnion of Communities in Kurdistan Case in Siirt Province…
On 15 March 2011 Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 4 began to hear the case against 62 defendants -14 of them are pre-trial detainees- who had been detained in the operations in Siirt Province on 13 February 2010 and 16 March 2010 on the grounds that they were members of Koma Ciwaken Kurdistan-Kurdistan Communities League /Assembly of Turkey (KCK/TMKCK Par lament Turkey ), the KCK is the intend to organize the Kurdish people as an umbrella organization that includes Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
After taking the legal arguments of the defendants the court adjudicated to release 9 pre-trial detainees and adjourned the hearing (ozgurradyo.com, 15 March).

On 15 March 2011 Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 5 sentenced 20 defendants to 10 months of imprisonment each in connection with a sit-in strike organised by the Democratic Society Party (DTP) in Diyarbakır Province in 2008 on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law (ntvmsnbc.com, 15 March).

Police teams had interfered to the students from the Youth Federation who intended to set off a hunger strike for “free education” in Beşiktaş District of Istanbul Province on 14 March 2011 and detained 17 people. After the intervention nine others were detained who intended to set off a hunger strike with the same demands (bianet.org, 15 March).
(03/058) Confiscated posters in Diyarbakır Province…
Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecution Office decided to confiscate the posters prepared by the Peace and Democracy Party (BDPPeace and Democracy Party ) to celebrate the Newroz that will be celebrated on 20 March 2011 on the grounds that opposition to the Law on Political Parties on 15 March 2011 (Yeni Şafak, 16 March).

Ankara Sentry Work Court launched a closure case against the Trade Union of the Judges and Prosecutors (YARGI-SEN) with the official complaint of Ankara Governorate reported on 15 March 2011 (Milliyet, 15 March).
