Malatya Heavy Penal Court No. 3 went on hearing the case on the murder of three Christians, Tilman Ekkehart Geske, Necati Aydın and Uğur Yüksel, in Zirve Press in Malatya Province on 18 April 2007 on the 22nd hearing on 13 November 2009. The hearing was postponed to 25 December 2009 for the preparation of the comments of the prosecutor on the essence of the case (bianet.org, 13 November). (11/069) Untreated wounded people…
It is reported on 15 November 2009 that Özkan Gerçek and Ömer Adıgüzel who had been wounded in the clash in Avcılar District of İstanbul Province on 8 November 2009 and who were arrested and put into in solitary confinement in Metris T Type Closed Prison on 12 November 2009 were not medically treated and they have open wounds and there is a risk of infection in bones (atilim.org, 13 November; Gündem; atilim.org; TİHV, 15 November). Vahit Yüksel, a prisoner in Kürkçüler (Adana) F Type Closed Prison, did not medically treated on the grounds that the soldiers did not remove the cuff for his treatment on 13 November 2009 (Gündem, 13 November).

The parents of Ö.F.P. (10), a student of Zübeyde Hanım Primary School in Ümraniye District of İstanbul Province, made an official complaint against M.C. (38) the teacher of the student after they noticed thet their child was beaten by the teacher on 12 November 2009 (Sabah, 14 November).

İzmir Heavy Penal Court No. 10 adjudicated to release two pre-trial detainees, A.G. and A.Y., on the grounds that Fighting with Terrorism Law will be amended on 13 November 2009 and postponed the hearing to 18 March 2010. A.G. and A.Y. have been tried in connection with a protest in İzmir Province on 25 July 2007 on charges of “being a member of an illegal organisation” and “harming public goods” (Gündem, 13 November).
(11/073) Attack on Kurdish workers in Tekirdağ Province…
Kurdish workers from Doğubayazıt District of Ağrı Province that have been in Hayrabolu District of Tekirdağ Province to work in a construction site were attacked by local people on the grounds that they talked in Kurdish on 12 November 2009. Selahattin Çalban, Metin Çalban were seriously wounded and Celil Kılıçaslan, Emrah Kılıçaslan, Mehmet Salan and Rojhin Çalban were wounded from different parts of their body (yeniozgurpolitika.com, 14 November).

Ahmet Atış (25) who gave “Helin Kürdistan” name to his child that was born on 4 February 2008 in Şanlıurfa Province gave testimony as suspect on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation via media” on 12 November 2009 (Radikal, 13 November).

Adana Chief Public Prosecution Office launched a case against the 16 members of the Democratic Society Party (DTP) in connection with a public statement that supports the non-action decision of Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKKKurdish Workers' Party ) armed wing People’s Defence Forces (HPGPeople's Defence Forces (armed wing of the PKK) ) on charges of “opposing to the Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations” in Adana Province on 3 June 2009. The first hearing of the case will be held in Adana Penal Court of First Instance No. 4 on 2 February 2010 (Gündem, 13 November).

Alper Ateş and M.B.G. (17) will be tried in connection with their speeches in public tribune that was organised by Halkevleri (People’s House) in Kadıköy Bazzar in İstanbul Province on 3 January 2009 on charges of “insulting public officers” under Article 125 of TPCTurkish Penal Code . Alper Ateş who said “we ran out of LPG and we cannot take a bath. I have to go to a friend of mine to take a bath. God damn you Tayyip ! (referring the prime minister)” and will be tried in Kadıköy Penal Court Peace No. 4 on 10 March 2010. M.B.G., a high school student, who said “why do not you put an end to the training of Israeli pilots? Then god damn you” will be tried in Kadıköy Court for Juveniles No. 1 on 25 December 2009 (Radikal, 15 November).

Police teams interfered to the public statement to support the 31 members of Confederation of Public Employees Trade Unions (KESKConfederation of Trade Union in the Public Sector ), 22 of them pre-trial detainees, who will be tried in İzmir Heavy Penal Court No. 8 on 19-20 November 2009, and detained 29 members of KESK on the grounds that “opposing to the Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations” in Kars Province on 14 November 2009. Detainees were released on 15 November 2009 (ntvmsnbc.com, 14 November; Zaman, 16 November).

Baran Narin and Dilay Aydoğan, students of Hacettepe University and members of Student Youth Trade Union (Öğrenci Gençlik Sendikası (Genç Sen)), were detained on the grounds that they “shouted illegal slogans” in Ankara Province on 14 November 2009 (Gündem, 14 November).
