A trans Neşe Dilşeker (Sedat Şendirekler) (46) was killed by unidentified person(s) by cutting his throat in Muratpaşa District of Antalya Province on 10 July 2012.

Haki Kuru the Peace and Democracy Party’s (BDPPeace and Democracy Party ) Adana Province Branch Executive who had been detained in the framework of the KCKUnion of Communities in Kurdistan investigation in Adana Province on 6 March 2011 had a heart attack in Kürkçüler (Adana) F Type Closed Prison on 11 July 2012. He was not transferred to a hospital although he applied for it 15 days before the incident.

Erdal Taş attempted to set himself ablaze in Kırıklar (İzmir) F Type Closed Prison No. 1 reported on 11 July 2012.

The administration of Şanlıurfa E Type Closed Prison banned the table talk for 3 months to the prisoners who had initiated hunger strike on 17 December 2011 reported on 11 July 2012.
(07/106) Ongoing investigation on torture and ill-treatment in detention…
Kuşadası Chief Public Prosecution Office finalised the indictment launched after the official complaint of F.Ş. (39), against 6 police officers and the physician and sent it to Kuşadası Penal Court of First Instance on 25 June 2012.
F.Ş. was beaten in Çarşı Police Station by 6 officers and the physician gave a medical report that claims that “no evidences of beating was found” in Kuşadası District of Aydın Province on 4 July 2010. Later the footage of the CCTV was revealed out.
Officers -M.G., M.Ç., M.S., S.Y., Y.C. and A.K.- were charged with “excessive use of force”, “misconduct in office”, “intentionally wounding” and the prosecutor asked their imprisonment up to 7 years and 6 months. Physician A.A. was charged with “misconduct in office and the prosecutor asked his imprisonment up to 3 years. Complainer F.Ş. was charged with “insulting officer” and faced with an imprisonment up to 3 years.

On 10 July 2012 Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court No. 4 went on hearing the case against Sevda Çağdaş a member of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) who had been detained in Koşuyolu Park after the activity organised by the Human Rights Association’s (IHD) Diyarbakır Branch for the “forced disappearance incidents” on 26 May 2012 and eventually arrested on 27 May 2012 on the grounds that she threw stones to the law-enforcement in the Newroz Celebrations in Diyarbakır Province on 18 March 2012.
In the hearing despite the negative expert report –she could not be identified in the photographs- the court adjudicated to prolong the detention process till the next hearing on 18 September 2012.

Adana Heavy Penal Court No. 8 accepted the indictment against three members of the Socialist Democracy Party (SDP) -Ali Okutan (19), Dersim Dinçer (19) and Bedrettin Akdeniz (20)- in connection with the Newroz Celebrations in Mersin Province on 20 March 2012 –they had been detained and eventually arrested on 2 May 2012- reported on 12 July 2012.
The prosecutor asked their imprisonment up to 30 years each on charges of “being a member of an illegal organisation” under Article 314 of TPCTurkish Penal Code , “acting on behalf of an illegal organisation”, “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Anti-Terror Law, “having risky and illegal materials”, “resisting officers”, “intentionally wounding” and “harming public goods”. The first hearing will be held on 27 September 2012.
(07/109) Intervention to the protest in İstanbul Province…
Municipal police and police teams interfered the sit-in strike attempts of the People’s Front (Halk Cephesi) to protest the abolition of the houses as a part of the “urban transformation” by İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality three times in front of the building of the municipality on 11 July 2012. İstanbul Deputy Mahmut Tanal was wounded from his head and 25 people were detained.

Gendarmerie soldiers interfered the villagers who protested the solid waste disposal facility which is planned to be constructed in the vicinity of their villges in Görele District of Giresun Province on 12 July 2012, and detained 20 of them.

Police teams interfered the stand of Socialist Youth Association (SGD) that they collect signature for the release of their pre-trial detainee friends and sentenced to a fine of 150 TL each according to the Law on Misdemeanours in İzmir Province on 11 July 2012 .
