Kurtuluş Bozkurt was beaten by two police officers in Atatürk Airport (in İstanbul Province) on 11 November 2009. He got a health report that documents the ill-treatment from Bakırköy State Hospital and made an official complaint (Gündem, 11 November).

On 11 November 2009’da Gebze Penal Court of First Instance No. 1 began to hear the case on the physical and psychological attacks on the female prisoners in Gebze (Kocaeli) M Type Closed Prison that took place on 18 October 2008 and the hearing was postponed to 24 March 2010 for the evaluation of the case (ozgurradyo.com, 11 November).

On 11 November 2009 Van Heavy Penal Court No. 3 sentenced Veli Avcı, the chairperson of the Democratic Society Party’s (DTP) Erciş District Branch, to a fine of 2000 TL in connection with using “honourable” term for Abdullah Öcalan in a public statement in Erciş District of Van Province in May 2009 on charges of “praising crime and criminal” under the Article of 215/1 of TPCTurkish Penal Code (Gündem, 11 November).

Thirteen members of the DTP were detained in home raids in Silvan District of Diyarbakır Province and in Başakşehir District of İstanbul Province on 11 November 2009 (ANF, 11 November).
Seven people were detained in the home raids on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” in Derik District of Mardin Province on 11 November 2009 (Gündem, 11 November).
Erkan Karaslan and Asena Alpaslan, two members of the Youth Federation were detained as they were hanging posters in Kocaeli Province on 11 November 2009 (halkinsesi.tv, 11 November).
