On 9 June 2009 National Education Director of Ergani District of Diyarbakir Province Ahmet Armutoglu, made an official complaint and claimed that he was beaten by a police team in the concert in the district on 8 June 2009 (ntvmsnbc.com, 9 June).

Mehmet Beyaz, Hasan Devir and Mahfuz Aytaç were beaten by soldiers whist they were taken to Diyarbakir Court House from Sanliurfa E Type Closed Prison on 8 June 2009 on the grounds that they talked in Kurdish (ANF, 9 June).

Ankara Heavy Penal Court No. 11 went on hearing the case against Aysel Tugluk, Diyarbakir deputy of Democratic Society Party (DTP), in connection with her three speeches on charges of “praising crime and criminal on behalf of an illegal organisation” under the Article of 6 of Fighting with Terrorism Law on 9 June 2009. Aysel Tugluk did not participate in the hearing and the court postponed the hearing to 29 September 2009 to wait for the reply of the application which was made to Grand National assembly of Turkey (Zaman, 9 June).

On 9 June 2009 Diyarbakir Penal Court of First Instance No. 2 adjudicated to nolle procequi in the case against 54 mayors of DTP in connection with the joint public statement on 4 March 2007 on charges of “praising crime and criminal” under the Article of 215/1 of TPCTurkish Penal Code and sent the case to Diyarbakir Heavy Penal Court No. 5 so that they could be tried on charges of ““praising crime and criminal on behalf of an illegal organisation” under the Article of 314/3 of TPC and Article 6 of Fighting with Terrorism Law (Vatan, 9 June).
