(12/038) Clash in Tokat Province…

Seven soldiers -Harun Arslanbey, Onur Bozdemir, Kemal Pide, Ferit Demir, Yakup Mutlu, Cengiz Sarıbaş and Fatih Yonca- were killed and three soldiers were wounded -Yusuf Öztürk, Emrah Mandıralı and Arif Temel- in the attack on an army unit near Sazak Village of Reşadiye Disrict of Tokat Province on 6 December 2009 (ntvmsnbc.com, 7 December).

Adana Security Directorate’s Fighting with Terrorism Department police teams raided on Radio Dünya with the decision of Adana Heavy Penal Court No. 8 and detained Kenan Karavil, Radio Dünya’s editor in chief, Şeyhmus Bilgin, a reporter of sonucu Günlük ve Azadiya Welat Newspapers, Seyithan Akyüz, Adana representative of Azadiya Welat Newspaper, DTP executives Erol Demirhan and Engin Okutucu and DTP workers Fikriye Özbay and Hazım Bahadır on 7 December 2009 (bianet.org, 7 December).

Police teams raided on the houses of the members and executives of the Confederation of the Revolutionary Workers Trade Unions’(DİSK) Revolutionary Land Transport Workers’ Trade Union on 7 December 2009 and detained Ali Rıza Küçükosmanoğlu, Aziz Cengiz, Rıza Ballı, Abdullah Menek, Abuzer Aslan, Nurettin Gümüş, Hacı Altaş, Erdal Kopal, Ali Özçelik, Erkan Erçel and Cihangir (sendika.org, 7 December).

Unidentified people attacked on Democratic Society Party’s (DTP) District Branch office causing material damage in Marmaris District of Muğla Province on 7 December 2009 (ANF, 7 December).

Unidentified people attacked on DTP’s District Branch office with petrol bombs causing material damage in Gaziantep Province in the night of 7 December 2009 (DHA, 8 December).

(12/043) Incidents in the demonstrations to attract attention to the prison conditions of Abdullah Öcalan…

Several incidents took place in the 31st anniversary of the foundation of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKKKurdish Workers' Party ) (27 November 1978) and in the demonstrations to attract attention to the prison conditions of Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı F Type Closed Prison.

Five executives of DTP Şemdinli District Branch were detained in the intervention of police teams to the demonstration on 7 December 2009. Demonstrators had demanded the releasement of the detainees who had been detained in the incidents in Şemdinli Disrict of Hakkâri Province on 6 December 2009.

Five out of 35 people who had been detained in home raids in Tarsus District of Mersin Province were arrested on 7 December 2009.

On 7 December 2009 Hüseyin Gazi Kılıç, Hayrettin Biçen and İlyas Toptamur were detained in connection with the protest in Adıyaman Province on 5 December 2009.

Five out of the 15 people who ha been detained in connection with the protest in Ağrı Province were arrested on 7 December 2009.

Fifty-nine people -29 of them were juveniles- were detained in the intervention to the incidents in Batman Province on 6 December 2009.

114 people were detained in the demonstration in İstanbul Province (Zaman; Gündem; Milliyet; ANF, 7 December).
