On 6 November Bakirköy Heavy Penal Court No. 10 adjudicated to released the pre-trial detainee, police officer A.M., who caused the death of Feyzullah Ete by kicking him from his chest in Avcilar District of Istanbul Province on 21 November 2007 (ntvmsnbc.com, 6 November).

A waste paper worker Ali Tepedelen, was beaten by nearly 20 municipal police of Yenimahalle Municipality in Yenimahalle District of Ankara Province on 5 November. He was seriously wounded and hospitalised to Numune Hospital (alinteri.org, 6 November).

Nazim Adigüzel the elder brother of a prisoner in Tekirdag F Type Prison, Hakan Adigüzel, made an official complaint to the public prosecution office on the grounds that the administration of the prison sentenced his brother to three years of discipline punishment (Gündem, 6 November).

Democratic Society Party’s (DTP) Biga District (of Çanakkale Province) chairperson Birhat Akdeniz was arrested on the grounds that he was sentenced to 90 days’ of imprisonment on charges of “praising crime and criminal” under the Article of 215/1 of TPCTurkish Penal Code and “inciting people to hatred and enmity” under Article 216 of TPC on 6 November (ntvmsnbc.com, 6 November).

Diyarbakir Heavy Penal Court No 4 sentenced Viransehir Mayor (of Sanliurfa Province) Emrullah Cin to 18 months’ of imprisonment in connection with his speech in the Newroz Celebration in 2007 on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law (Vatan, 6 November).

Süleyman Zengin, Menduh Karbulut and Ahmet Alagas were arrested on charges of “being a member of an illegal organisation” and Mahmut Çakmak, Mehmet Çakmak, Rojda Tunç, Celal Pala, Ibrahim Simsek and Cihan Karacar on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” in Sanliurfa Province 6 November. They had been detained on 5 November (ANF, 6 November).
Deniz Utah and Erol Koçakli who had been detained on the grounds that they attended to the meeting on 20 October in Ercis District of Van Province were arrested on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” 6 November (Gündem, 6 November).
