Turkish General Staff adjudicated to arrest Brigadier General Zeki Es on 5 November 2010 in connection with the incident in which six soldiers were killed and 8 soldiers were wounded with the explosion of the land mine in Çukurca District of Hakkâri Province on 27 May 2009. Authorities had claimed that the mine was grounded by PKKKurdish Workers' Party but later a voice footage was uploaded on a video sharing website that reveals the a dialog between Zeki Es, komutanı Major General Gürbüz Kaya in which Zeki Es had admitted that the landmine was grounded with the order of him (Star, 6 November).
(11/028) Forced disappearance in detention claim in İstanbul Province…
Human Rights Association (İHD) İstanbul Branch made a statement on 7 November 2010 and claimed that Necat Şahbudak (30) was detained by three civil police officer with radio in their hands in Bağcılar District of Istanbul Province on 4 November 2010’da and no one has any knowledge of his whereabouts. His eyes were tied before he was put into a car. Necat Şahbudak called his uncle at 1.45 pm that day and he told him that he was taken away and asked him to follow him and inform his lawyer also cliamed.
Province security Directorate did not admit that Necat Şahbudak was detained (ozgurradyo.com, 7 November).

İstanbul Forensic Medicine Institute declined the report of Ankara Numune Hospital that documents that Abdulsamet Çelik’s execution of sentence should be delayed for 6 months due to leukaemia and adjudicated that he is not ill reported on 6 November 2010 (ANF, 6 November).

On 5 November 2010 Van Heavy Penal Court No. 4 sentenced Abdulnasır Taş, Bülent Çatak, Şengül Çatak, Metin Catak, Bülent Ağlar, Kaya Akkoyun, Abdulselam Han, Hanım Han, Ceyhan Han, Zübeyde Sever, Zahide Catak, Hanım Catak, Güler Catak, Nakip Gümgüm, Yeter Gümgüm, Ferhat Gümgüm, Muzeyyen Şahin, Hanım Karataş, Mihriban Karataş, Vedat Han and Fevziye Karataş to 12 months of imprisonment in connection with the petition “Honourable Abdullah Öcalan is my political will” in Varto District of Muş Province on 5 April 2006 on charges of “making propaganda of an illegal organisation” under Article 7/2 of Fighting with Terrorism Law (ANF, 7 November).

Alanya Penal Court of First Instance No. 2 sentenced Kemal Göl, Alanya (Antalya) representative of Educators Trade Union (Eğitim-Sen) of Confederation of Public Employees Trade Unions (KESKConfederation of Trade Union in the Public Sector ), to 15 months of imprisonment in connection with the public statement on 25 April 2007 on the grounds that they did not get permission from the Alanya Governorate on charges of “opposing to the Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations” on 5 November 2010 (ANF, 5 November).
(11/032) Intervention to the YÖK protests in Ankara and Istanbul Provinces…
Police teams interfered the protest against the Higher Education Board (YÖK) which was constituted on 6 November 1981 in Ankara Province on 5 November 2010 and detained 7 students with beating (Zaman, 5 November).
Police teams interfered the protest in Beyazıt Campus of Istanbul University on 5 November 2010 and detained 22 students with beating. The officers stopped beating the students after they were noticed by the journalists (ANF, 7 November).

Six out of the 17 detainees who had been detained in the raids on the Association of Fundamental Rights (Temel Haklar Derneği) and on the houses of the members of the association in İstanbul and Kocaeli Provinces on 4 November 2010 were arrested on 7 November 2010 (Yeni Şafak, 7 November).
