For more information on the Democratic Turkey Forum (DTF) and the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (HRFT) see About DTF.

Being a German group most texts in the Internet are naturally in German. This includes weekly translation of daily human right bulletins which the HRFT issues about human rights violations in Turkey. You can take a look at the English translations of these reports.

Besides the basic texts we offer some background stories and links to interesting articles in English. The collection of such articles we called Press. There you can find links to articles for the last four months. Our background stories can be found under the simple heading of Reports.

In March 2008 human rights activist Ridvan Kizgin started to serve a sentence of 30 months' imprisonment. A second sentence of five years' imprisonment is about to be confirmed. The DTF has looked into these convictions and other cases against Ridvan Kizgin in order to establish whether he was convicted for his peaceful efforts concerning human rights.
